Calsyntenin-3β
WebJan 27, 2024 · Here we show that the mammalian adipocyte-specific protein Calsyntenin 3β (CLSTN3B) works at the ER/LD interface to enhance LD functionality. We found that CLSTN3B harbors an N-terminal LD-targeting and a C-terminal ER transmembrane domain linked by an arginine-rich segment, promoting a tight association between the ER and LDs. WebDec 7, 2024 · Here, we identify calsyntenin-3β (CLSTN3β) as a critical determinant of the multilocular LD phenotype and efficient lipid use characteristic of thermogenic adipocytes.

Web241. Calsyntenins (Csts, CLSTN) are type I transmembrane proteins that belong to the cadherin superfamily. Their name comes from their ability to bind calcium. In birds and mammals, they consist of three family members (Cst1, 2 and 3), [1] [2] in nematodes one ortholog (CASY-1, originally CDH11) is known. [3] WebOct 2, 2013 · Calsyntenin-3, also known as alcadein-β (Alzheimer-related cadherin-like protein β), is a brain-specific transmembrane protein with extracellular cadherin and LNS domains and subject to ectodomain shedding ( Araki et al., 2004; Araki et al., 2003; Hintsch et al., 2002 ). We present evidence here indicating that calsyntenin-3 is an α-neurexin ...
WebMar 4, 2024 · Recently, the study by Zeng et al. showed the role of calsyntenin 3β (CLSTN3β), a mammal-specific membrane protein, to promote sympathetic innervation in brown and beige adipocytes.
