If I shine a ~1000 lumen flashlight* directly into someones eyes from 1m (3 feet) will this cause temp blindness, and if so for how long? a. Outside in bright daylight. b. Indoors during day. c. Indoors night time with lights on. WebBack in the day, 50 lumens was “tactical” brightness and considered more than enough to overwhelm an attacker’s night-adapted vision. I think you’ll be just fine with 250 lumens. FYI: There’s not much difference between 250 and 500 lumens - you’d be surprised.
